AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. Following her graduation earlier from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was chosen as the number one overall pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional there and was integral in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest athlete on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team finished as runners-up. In the 123rd minute of the semifinal match against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She was able to finish 2012 with 21 and 28 goals. assists, joining Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists during the same calendar year , making her the sixth and youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan contributed to helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also selected to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
